We here at Hawaii Book Blog want to wish every one of you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Some of you are still preparing your feasts, while others like ourselves are already full from a delicious Thanksgiving meal (Act One), and are prepping our overstuffed tummies for yet another meal (Round Two). Football is over, and if you’re like me, you’re NOT thankful that “America’s Team” won. But here is what we are thankful for.
We’re thankful for all the hard-working librarians in the Hawaii State Public Library System who, despite the cutbacks, job freezes, and general underfunding, are the reason why we can be proud of having the most unique public system in the country.
We want to thank all of the local writers out there, especially the ones who help to keep the voice, the past and the culture of our islands alive. We’ve met amazing and passionate writers who support and encourage us everyday.
We are also thankful for all of the local publishers… big and small. From Mutual Publishing to TinFish Press. From Bamboo Ridge to Island Paradise Publishing. We are thankful for the service you provide in enabling passionate and creative people to share their stories with the world. Thank you to those authors and publishers who have provided us with books to review, HBB would not be the same without you and we’ll try our hardest to speed up the review process.
Most of all we want to thank YOU. A big Mahalo to all of Hawaii Book Blog’s readers and supporters. Thank you for following us and sending feedback and comments. HBB is so much fun and a real labor of love, we couldn’t do it without you all to root us on.
To show our gratitude and get into the spirit of the holidays, we will be doing “12 Days of Giveaways” starting in December so check back soon for details!
Time to go eat again…. gobble gobble!
