ARTICLE/REVIEW SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
The literary scene in Hawaiʻi is just so vibrant and busy that we wish we could be everywhere at once. Although we do try, it’s impossible to cover everything, so we decided to open up our website to submissions.
Is there a local book you’ve read and you’d like to share a short review or analysis? Or maybe you wrote an article about a recent literary event.
There are many voices in a chorus, and the more people talk about Hawaiʻi literature the better it will become. We’re happy to feature the different voices and opinions in our literary community.
Please email all submissions to: mlsanico@hawaiibookblog.com
Make sure your article/review is in the body of the email. For security purposes, attachments will not be accepted. Book reviews should be anywhere between 500 to 700 words and articles between 700 to 1000 words, although exceptions can be made depending on the piece. Please also include your contact information and a couple of sentences about yourself.
Content submitted should be ORIGINAL and in line with Hawaii Book Blog’s mission statement. Submissions should not contain excessive profanity, advocate against any individual or group, or contain any content that is in violation of any law.
Hawaiʻi Book Blog cannot pay for submissions but you, the author, will retain full ownership of the content submitted. However, Hawaiʻi Book Blog does retain the right to edit content within reason. By submitting your review/article you agree to let Hawaiʻi Book Blog publish the content on the HBB website and material related to it. Hawaiʻi Book Blog also retains the right to refuse the posting of your submission.
Lastly, we cannot accept previously published articles or reviews unless you (the author) own the copyright. If you have any questions please email mlsanico@hawaiibookblog.com
Book reviews should contain the following information about the book under review:
- Title of book
